Our Daily Bread, a local bakery and bistro, is set to open a new location in Roanoke Feb. 18.
Danielle Tellier, co-owner of the establishment, said that she received numerous requests to open a new location from her current Roanoke customers that were traveling to Blacksburg, but wanted to wait until the time was right.
When her current chef expressed interest in the business side of the bistro, Tellier said that the timing was perfect.
The new location will replace Star City Coffee on Brambleton Avenue in Roanoke.
“We thought that we could combine his motivation and our experience and open the new location in Roanoke,” Tellier said.
The new bistro will be open Tuesday through Saturday serving breakfast, lunch and dinner. The new location will be open Sundays as well for brunch from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m.
“This is something new,” said Tellier. “A lot of Blacksburg customers wanted us to stay open on Sunday for brunch, but here we could not. So now we will have the Roanoke location open.”
Tellier said that she realizes that opening another business in this unpredictable economy may be a risky decision. “We are very wise in business,” Tellier said. “We take risk, but it is a calculated risk.”
Tellier said the business continues to grow because of the bistro’s consistency.
“People continue to come back for the good taste, the freshness and the quality of the product,” Tellier said.
Tellier said that after the launch of the new Roanoke location, they have plans to open another location sometime in the future.
