I don't mind the new jerseys but we are turning into the Oregon Ducks of the East Coast. If you haven't noticed, this will be our 5th different jersey in the last 5 games. I don't even think Oregon has worn that many jersey combination's all year!
I am not a VT fan at all and actually I don't even like them one bit. But if your a VT fan complaining about the jerseys and the way they look you need to find another college. These jerseys are so sick, they look really good and the whte helmet puts it over the tope. Jerseys are a marketing tool for the college. They hel them make money, and probably gets them more fans. So technically the jerseys pay for your scholarship players such as Tyrod Taylor or Coty Grimm.
What will the home uniforms look like? Personally would like to see maroon and white switched for home uni's and stick with the 2 combinations...even on orange effect day and leave the rest alone. Would like to see home uni's with both white and maroon helmets. The white helmets may take some getting used to, but highlights make the team look a lot like Texas from afar. Here's a website that shows all uni's that will be unveiled in 2009. I'd be surprised if some of these schools allowed the swoosh to make drastic changes to their look. http://www.nike.com/nikeos/p/usnikefootball/en_US/rivalries09

I read somewhere that we just wore the new helmet and jersey for this one game and we will be going back to our old helmet and jersey (but in the new fancy material). It sounded like this was just a one time deal with the all white jerseys and helmets because this was a big Nike kickoff for the new state of the art gear, can anyone confirm that? I personally like the all white jersey and pant, but don't like the white helmets, I'd like to see the regular maroon helmets with the all white jersey and pants, would be different.

I disagree with waht you say about the jersey change. I think the jersey change is wicked. The white with the team colors strips and dotted at the end is really awesome. The number is even better with the team colors somewhat split in half. but overall i think that the new jersey is GREAT.
We're in an intensively visual society, and yet we're not very good at visually scrutinizing. But if you know what to look for, there are many ways to tell image integrity. Photoshopped Image Killer is a good example.

Don't like the new uniforms. The color of the jersey and helmet should remain Chicago Maroon.
Fortunately, they got rid of the weird arm sleeve design that they had when Marcus Vick was around.

How about black and white prison stripes? That's the color scheme most associated with VT football.
