This is the kind of law enforcement response you get when a police officer is shot (a senseless and unfortunate act). Sad to think, but if it was a random student I'm doubtful that every SWAT team for miles around would have showed. The police have become way too militaristic for my liking, suddenly they are all decked out in fatigues with M4s.

To the person/people taking these photos: why weren't you inside as instructed?! Just because you're media doesn't mean you don't have to follow the rules. And quite honestly, these pictures weren't exceptional so why risk your safety?

Those who followed instructions risked their safety. Why on earth would you stay put like sitting ducks? Not me. First rule of a panic is be the first one that does it. I head home on days like this, not sit at school.

I'm sure if there was a gunman loose, you'd show up in tennis clothes and a squirt gun.

I can't even wrap my head around how brain-wrenchingly stupid this comment is.

The last picture, I don't know if intentional, has a cross in the background...such a sad picture...and God Bless Officer Crouse.

Anon, That's a light pole at the cage, but it is a nice coincidence.

I'm certain you're wrong, their response would have been just the same.
