Michael Vick declared bankruptcy last week. Vick's financial problems mostly stem from dealings he had with a few different creditors and enterprises. Vick reportedly owes nearly $4.5 million to Joel Enterprises, which is based in Richmond. He also had dealings with a Canadian bank, to which he now owes nearly $2.5 million. |

According to the Associated Press, NASCAR star Tony Stewart announced last Thursday that after this season, he will part ways with Joe Gibbs Racing and take on the role of owner-driver at his new home, Haas-CNC Racing. |

Last year, the Virginia Tech secondary allowed little more than 207 passing yards per game as a unit. Senior free safety D.J. Parker and cornerback Brandon Flowers anchored that unit. Parker vacated the free safety spot after graduation, while Flowers left the team a year early to declare for the NFL Draft, where he was drafted in the second round by the Kansas City Chiefs. |

National championships are hard to defend, no matter what the sport. The Virginia Tech bass fishing team found that out first hand last weekend when it failed to defend its 2007 title and finished in 11th place at the College Bass National Championships. |
