The Virginia Tech Police Department (VTPD) issued a crime alert Monday, Nov. 18, notifying recipients of a forcible fondling report that occured at noon on Nov. 15 at 155 Otey St.
The survivor and suspect were acquaintances that met through an online dating app, according to VTPD. Both are Virginia Tech students.
In addition, VTPD offered general information about sexual assault, including that any college community member could be a target of a sexual assault regardless of gender identity or sexual orientation, and that sexual assault survivors are never responsible or to blame for the suspect’s behavior.
