Breaking News Graphic

The Virginia Tech Police Department (VTPD) received a report of two sexual assaults on Tuesday, April 9. Both incidents took place in Pritchard Hall, located at 630 Washington Street on campus.

According to the report, the incidents took place in January 2017 and March 2017. The survivor and suspect are both Virginia Tech students and were acquaintances.

The report pointed out that the most common type of sexual assault is often by someone the survivor knows, typically a date or acquaintance. VTPD also encourages students to be alert of  people who are pressuring them to use alcohol or other drugs as they are often used to create vulnerability to sexual assault.
