Virginia Tech has launched a COVID-19 helpline and corresponding call center.
Members of the Virginia Tech community can call a new helpline to get answers to their questions regarding Virginia Tech’s response to COVID-19.
The helpline will operate Monday through Friday, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Phone operators include personnel from student affairs, administrative and university academic departments.
If someone’s call to the call center was not immediately answered, they will eventually be called back.
The decision to install a helpline was motivated by the increase in calls from community members relating to their specific COVID-19 needs.
“In many cases, members of our community have needs or seek information specific to their circumstances, or prefer to talk to a person,” said Mike Mulhare, assistant vice president for emergency management. “This will be one more resource people can turn to as they navigate the impact of the pandemic on their Virginia Tech experience.”
Community members can call the helpline at 540-231-7600.
