Justus Reed has committed to Virginia Tech as a graduate transfer from Youngstown State. The 6-foot-3-inch, 270-pound defensive end stated throughout his recruitment cycle that Virginia Tech was his top choice.
The defensive end missed his 2018 season because of injury but came back more powerful than ever, having the best season of his career in 2019. In the 2019-20 season, Reed had 12.5 sacks and 30 tackles.
Reed is immediately eligible to play as a graduate transfer. His impressive stats and size signify that he will be an important addition on the field for the Hokies.
This is a key move for the Hokies in the off-season and will help bolster their defensive line and past rush.
