After the Furman game, I found myself a little disappointed in my fellow Hokies.
We are asked to have Hokie Respect: Respect for the game, Respect for the moment, Respect for the opponent.
But what I fear is lacking in our stands is the respect for our own team. I refer to specifically the booing of No. 7, Sean Glennon.
To yell such mean remarks at a player of our own team I feel is absolutely embarrassing and completely goes against our ideals of Hokie Respect.
Glennon has worked just as hard as any other player and for him, his family and his friends to hear their fellow Hokies may not help his self-esteem. We are to stand behind our players and our coaches.
And if that means that we can trust Beamer's decision to stick with the dual-QB situation, then I will be supporting that decision.
So this Saturday when No. 7 goes on the field, have some Hokie Respect and show Glennon your support by cheering for him as much as you would any other player on the team.
