I think if you are a true Hokie fan you should support all sports at Virginia Tech. While football and basketball seem to be the most popular sports, there are other exciting sports that have not received much support. For example, what about the women's volleyball team -- it's 15-3 overall and 6-1 in the ACC -- good enough for first place.
To gain true fan loyalty, there should be a point system which awards students who attend underrepresented sports, such as women's volleyball, tennis, and track and field, to name a few. Your Hokie Passport will be swiped before, at intermission, and near the end of the game.
Attending the whole game will earn you three points, coming at intermission will earn you two points and coming near the end of the game will be one point. Football and basketball season tickets will require a certain number of points, in addition to the monetary price of season tickets.
Your accumulated points can also be used toward buying individual key match-ups to lessen tiebreakers. In the event of tiebreakers, you could earn more points for entering contests such as the best gameday sign, best pre-game pep talk at a pep rally and best phrases for the Hokie Zone T-shirts.

All letters to the editor must include a name, e-mail, daytime phone number and affiliation to Virginia Tech. Affiliation includes: year and major for students; position and department for faculty and staff; current city for alumni and parents.
Sounds stupid to me. Great as sports like Volleyball and Lacrosse are, who cares? If you don't like a sport, you shouldn't feel the need to attend it. If football and basketball are popular, it is probably because they are interesting to watch. Boo hoo to those who claim to be "Real Hokie Fans". Whine more, really.

The only reason I go to volleyball games is to Facebook to hot girls after the game.
