Blacksburg Police are investigating a pair of armed robberies that occurred during the early morning hours Sunday.
At 2:21 a.m. this morning, police were called to the 1200 block of Snyder Lane in response to an alleged robbery. The victim said a black male -- roughly 20-30 years of age, 5'10" tall and weighing approximately 170 lbs. --placed an object the victim assumed was a gun against the back of his head as he was entering his apartment building. The suspect took the victim's cell phone and wallet.
At 3:32 a.m., police responded to a call in the 100 block of Owens Street for another alleged robbery where a female who was walking in the area said she was approached by a black male who robbed her of her purse after striking her twice in the face. The victim was transported to Montgomery Regional Hospital for treatment of facial injuries and released.
