The Virginia Tech softball team's home opening series against the North Carolina State Wolfpack was cancelled this weekend due to inclement weather and an unplayable field.
The games would have also marked the beginning of Atlantic Coast Conference play for the Hokies. After Saturday's contests were postponed, officials from both schools agreed on Sunday to cancel the entire series.
As of now, the games are not to be made up.Despite the weekend off, Tech still kept very busy during spring break.
Last weekend, the Hokies traveled to Clearwater, Fla., to take part in the USF Under Armour Invitational, where the team posted a record of 3-2.
Tech also played last Wednesday in Nashville, Tenn., where they lost 5-4 to Lipscomb. The Hokies return to action this Saturday when they host Georgia Tech at noon.
