The Hokies played their final home matches of the season this weekend, hosting North Carolina on Friday and Duke on Sunday.

The No. 39 Tar Heels would upset the No. 26 ranked Hokies, handing them their first home loss of the season.

However, Tech (12-5, 5-3 ACC) would recover to pull an upset of its own over the No. 25 Blue Devils.

On Friday, UNC would capture the doubles point after winning two of the three matches. This was the deciding factor, as Tech and Carolina would split the singles matches. The Hokies were at a slight disadvantage, however, playing without their top-seed and No. 59 nationally ranked player Yoann Re due to injury.

On Sunday, Tech bounced back. It won the doubles point and then won two easy matches, putting it up 3-0.

However, the Blue Devils won two straight to pull within a point. The Hokies would close it out by claiming the next two matches. The final point came when senior Nicolas Delgado de Robles won his match on Senior Day against the No. 55 ranked player in the country, Reid Carlton.

The Hokies conclude their regular season on the road at N.C. State on Friday and at Wake Forest on Saturday.
