Men's basketball guard Hank Thorns intends to transfer from Tech, according to an announcement from the school's athletic department.
The sophomore from Las Vegas started a total of 15 games in his Hokie career, including three this past season. In 2008-09, he averaged 2.7 points per game along with 18.9 minutes.
He was third on the team in assists with 72.
In his first year with Tech, Thorns broke the freshman season school record for assists (113), previously set by Bimbo Coles in 1986-87.
