Power out in upper quad

June 12, 2009 | by CT news staff

The power was shut down in five buildings in the upper quad this morning.

Shanks, Lane, Montieth, Thomas, and Rasche will all have no power until the late afternoon.

Kevin Bush, the business manager for Virginia Tech Electric Services said that "somebody was working on something and it caused one of our duct banks to collapse."

A duct bank is an underground electric network for voice and data cabling.
