The Virginia Tech ISP Sports Network and 106.7 The Fan announced a multi-year agreement through a statement Monday, delivering Hokies' football and basketball games to FM radio in the Washington, D.C. area, beginning with the 2010 season.

“We are delighted for our fans in Northern Virginia and Washington, D.C. who will be able to hear our games on a strong FM signal," Tech Director of Athletics Jim Weaver said in the statement. “We are very pleased to announce this partnership with 106.7 The Fan and CBS RADIO as they join the Virginia Tech ISP Sports Network.”

106.7 The Fan will now carry the weekly “Tech Talk Live” shows, hosted by Bill Roth, featuring Tech football coach Frank Beamer and men’s basketball coach Seth Greenberg.

“Northern Virginia and the D.C. market represent Virginia Tech’s largest alumni base,” Roth said. “So this is an exciting time for our fans.”

The station, which currently serves the D.C. area with a top-rated lineup of local sports personalities including The Sports Junkies and also broadcasts the Washington Wizards, Washington Capitals and NFL Playoffs is owned and operated by CBS RADIO.

“We are very excited to enter into this long-term partnership with Virginia Tech sports,” said 106.7 The Fan Program Director Chris Kinard. “Virginia Tech has a very large and passionate fan base in the D.C. area. We know Hokies fans will be thrilled to hear their team on our crystal clear FM signal across the region.”

ISP is the sales and marketing partner for more than 50 universities, including the Atlantic Coast Conference's Georgia Tech, Boston College, Duke, Clemson, Miami, Wake Forest and Florida State.

The first game scheduled for broadcast on 106.7 The Fan is Tech football’s 2010 kickoff game against Boise State on Labor Day Monday. The game will be played at Washington’s FedEx Field.
