The Virginia Tech men’s basketball team announced its 2010-2011 schedule, which includes 15 nationally televised contests.
Tech’s non-conference schedule is highlighted by matchups against Penn State, Purdue, Mississippi State and Kansas State. Purdue was eliminated by Duke in the Sweet Sixteen during last year’s NCAA Tournament. Meanwhile, Kansas State advanced to the Elite Eight before falling to eventual national runner-up, Butler.
Additionally, the Hokies will make a trip to Anaheim, California, for the 76 Classic which includes three NCAA Tournament teams from last year – Oklahoma State, Murray State and UNLV.
Tech will open Atlantic Coast Conference play against in-state rival Virginia at home on Dec. 5. Also, the College GameDay crew will head to Blacksburg for the Hokies’ matchup against the Duke Blue Devils on Feb. 26. Tech will close out the regular season on the road against Clemson on March 5.
In conference play, the Hokies will host Virginia, Florida State, Wake Forest, Miami, Georgia Tech, Maryland, Duke and Boston College. Tech will also travel to North Carolina, Maryland, Georgia Tech, Virginia, Wake Forest and Clemson.
