Blacksburg Police search for robbery suspect

Blacksburg Police officials are looking for a suspect accused of a robbery on Wharton Street early Wednesday morning. 

According to a department release, police responded at 3:15 a.m. to a complaint of a robbery on the 100 block of Wharton Street. The victim reported he was approached by the suspect, who demanded money and stated he had a weapon. Taking an undisclosed amount of cash, the suspect fled on foot.

The suspect is described as a black male in his mid to late 40s, between 5 foot 8 inches and 5 foot 10 inches with a slim build, some grey hair on his chin, and some lighter pigmentation spots on the back of his hands.

The suspect was last seen wearing a grey t-shirt, with dark shorts, sneakers, and a dark colored woven 'beanie' hat with a small brim.

There's not many middle aged black people in this area so it shouldn't be hard.
