I want to thank everyone that came out on Wednesday night to support the Hokies.
Although it was a tough loss to a top 25 team we had the opportunity to defeat, the crowd was electric and your enthusiasm helped drive our team against such a tough opponent.
Virginia Tech basketball is in a pivotal time of year and we need you to continue to help us through this stretch.
With the Virginia Cavaliers coming into the Cassell on Sunday, this is when we need our students more than ever.
This is as important a game for our basketball team that we have played this season.
It’s the next game, it’s a home game, it’s a game against an in-state, ACC rival and it is a game that would put us in a great place as the ACC schedule gets going.
This season can be a special one. Our players have been working hard in practice and on the road, but when game time comes around, they need your help.
We need your energy, your passion, your ownership, your commitment and your support.
Cassell Coliseum is one of the great venues in all of college basketball.
Since we have joined the ACC, we have created a special environment in the Cassell and that has been made possible with the combined effort of our players, our student body and our season ticket holders.
Make no mistake about it. You set the tone. You raise the bar; you create the energy that is pivotal to our players’ success.
I look forward to seeing you in the Cassell and having the Cassell at its highest level and its electric best as we take the floor Sunday at 6 p.m. against UVa.
Remember, we will have our next installment of “Chalk Talks” today at noon in D2.
So stop by and grab some great food and learn more about the Hokies’ preparations for the Cavaliers.
It’s a great day to be a Hokie!

You're a big man saying that anonymously on a website...how about emailing Coach Greenberg with your name attached to it and say it yourself. Or better yet, how about sending along your ideas of what specifically he is doing wrong or what you would do differently. What am I thinking though, it's pretty obvious you know more than a 2-time ACC Coach of the Year. I mean, your in-depth look at our struggles was riveting.

Jim Weaver? Is that you whining about anonymous critical messageboard posts?

al groh was 2 time acc coach of the year

so that obviously means Greenberg and Groh are on the same level...
Greenberg is the best thing to ever happen to VT basketball. It's not like Bill Foster's days where we could win a bunch of games against Metro opponents. Coach Greenberg has made VT one of the top tier basketball programs in the nation's premier basketball conference.
Still waiting for actual suggestions on what can be done differently...

Actual suggestions on what to do differently?
Make it to the NCAAs. It's a good thing the OOC schedule has been cupcakes the past few years; with this year's beefed up schedule, Seth may be lucky to finish with a .500 record.

Ahh, "make it to the NCAAs"...why hasn't he thought of that yet...brilliant!

seems like he always has to write a letter of apology

Seriously? You must not remember the 2005-2006 season when we swept Duke (#5 at the time) and North Carolina twice (#1 and #4 at the time).

That won't happen this year, not to Duke at least, UNC maybe..

And some of us don't care at all about grown "men" throwing a ball through a metal ring. There are far more important things in life.

like taking the time to make comments about things you don't care about...

Criticism of Seth Greenberg is just like that of Frank Beamer in his 6th season when they lost 8 games. "Can't win the big ones, they said. Fire him." Or, just this year, the fools that blamed Stinespring for the first two losses. Two predictable, can't convert 3rd downs or call plays in the red zone.
How did that turn out?

Ummm part of the criticism is based on truth and statistics along with frusturation. I've been a fan of Greenberg and I don't think he should be fired, but he needs to figure out a way to get the poor free throws, rebounding, and turnover statistics in check. Those are the reasons we are losing these games. It's like the team didn't practice AT ALL during the off season or they just were not ready for the season, they looked hung over tonight against UVA.
As for Stinespring......please....really!? You must be one of those rare oblivious/old/or low standard type of hokie fan that just put their heads in the sand when the offense sucks.
Look at Stinespring's 9 year career here, not one season. Look how the offense has always been riding on the defense's back to win games except for this season when he rode on Tyrod Taylor's back since he makes plays out of broken down plays.
There is no excuse for JMU, not even a 10 win season.
If he can beat #4 stanford, i'll give him some more credit since we have not beaten a #5 team since I've been here and that's been 5 years.

VT should hire Mike Leach for the OC job.

Agreed, Mike Leech would be awesome, he's a genius.
