Drink of the weekend: Butterbeer

With Halloween fast approaching, a sorcery-inspired brew simply cannot be overlooked. Be sure to put on your finest wizarding hat as you prepare this concoction. Just try to keep it away from Muggles.

Ingredients: (serves 4-5)

1 1/4 cups butterscotch Schnapps

7 cups cream soda

butterscotch syrup

ice cream or whipped cream

Directions:

1. Pour the Schnapps and cream soda together slowly in a large container. Heat if you desire a warm brew.

2. Stir slowly to eliminate excess fizz. Pour into individual glasses or mugs.

3. Add a dollop of ice cream or whipped cream, drizzled with butterscotch syrup, on top of the drink.

4. Pretend you’re at the Three Broomsticks Inn, relax, and enjoy.
