Correction: This story has been modified from its original version. — TCU was not eligible for a BCS at-large bid. The Collegiate Times regrets this error.

Looks like the Hokies are heading to a BCS game after all.

After falling to Clemson 38-10 Saturday night in the ACC Championship Game, the Hokies learned Sunday night they will face Michigan Jan. 3 in New Orleans for the Allstate Sugar Bowl.

The Wolverines (10-2, 6-2) finished their season with 40-34 win over rival Ohio State on Nov. 26.

First-year head coach Brady Hoke has led the Wolverines back to their first BCS bowl game since 2007, when they fell to USC in the Rose Bowl. Michigan is led by their junior quarterback Denard Robinson, running back Fitzgerald Touissant and wide receiver Junior Hemingway. The Wolverines had key wins over Notre Dame and Nebraska in addition to Ohio State.

Many thought the Hokies would not get a BCS at-large bid after their lackluster performance against the Tigers. The other possibilites for the at-large spot were Kansas State (10-2, 7-2), Boise State (11-1, 6-1) (10-2, 7-0) and Baylor (9-3, 5-3).

The last time Tech played in the Sugar Bowl was after the 2004 season, when they fell to an undefeated Auburn team 16-13.

Look for more coverage this week and the whole month of December as we lead into the Jan. 3 matchup.

As a Michigan Wolverine fan let me say congratulations to the Va Tech Hokies and salute them for a great season (except for Clemson...) and we are looking forward to what should be a great game between two great traditional old school programs.

I'm glad this happened really. I would rather play a Big 10 school then a Big Least school.

I will be more enthused to watch the UVA bowl then the Orange Bowl...

Can't wait to see what Tech can do to shut down (Try to shut down) Robinson. Should be a great game.

Looks like a Michigan troll in need of a wine cooler.

Let's go Hokies

What's wrong with wine coolers? I bet you're one of those guys that drinks revolting light lagers and never considers the rest of the drinking spectrum. You can't always serve girls jungle juice at parties. There's an exciting selection of wonderful intoxicants out there if you just leave your preconceived notions at the door.

They're not preconceived notions - I have a wealth of firsthand experience with wine coolers...as well as delicious Belgians, microbrews, beers of the world, mixed drinks, and straight liquor. I've found plenty of things worth drinking, but wine coolers are not included.

I would now question which one of us truly has the preconceived notions. We're not your neighbors up in East Lansing. You sounds smugly Ann Arbor-esque to me.
