Despite a tough start to the league season, I really like this basketball team. Each and every day they come to practice, they work extremely hard and we are continuing to get better.
The win over the University of Virginia was huge in many ways. Obviously, beating our in-state rival. Earning an ACC win, but just as importantly, finishing a game out. In three of the four of our league losses, its come down to the last possession. To be able to get the stop, to make the basket, hopefully will pay huge dividends as we move forward.
The basketball season is very young. I always talk to our players about it being a marathon, not a sprint. There is a lot of basketball to be played and we need your help. One of the things that makes Virginia Tech so special to me is the Hokie Nation. As students, you are a part of that. The resiliency of the Virginia Tech community and its student body, is well documented. We need you now, more than ever, as we move forward during the season.
Going out of conference during league play is never easy. BYU brings a talented, mature and experienced team to Cassell Coliseum. No doubt, when we return to game to Salt Lake City next year, it will be a raucous, energetic crowd supporting their Cougars. Let’s let BYU experience what the Hokie Nation is all about. Let’s have a great turnout, a great passion, great energy, great ownership and help elevate us to the next level.
As always, your support means the world to me, our staff and our players. I look forward to seeing you in the Cassell.

All letters to the editor must include a name, e-mail, daytime phone number and affiliation to Virginia Tech. Affiliation includes: year and major for students; position and department for faculty and staff; current city for alumni and parents.
Seth needs an editor to clean up his prose and punctuation. But then, his forte is coaching, not composition. Well, maybe.
