Math Empo stays open for quiet study 24/7

The Math Emporium is located at the University Mall and houses over 500 Macintosh computers.

Most freshmen take their required math courses online, and quizes and exams are done at the Empo.

But, you are not alone. At the Empo, students can get help from qualified instructors as they work through the lessons and take practice quizes. Placing a red Solo cup on the top of the monitors signals a need for assistance, and the next available instructor will come to help. Tutoring and weekly review sessions are also offered.

The computers are also available for use unrelated to math. The center is open 24/7 (except during academic breaks), so it is a popular place for students to work on homework. Part of its appeal is that it is off campus with free parking.

The easiest way to get to the Empo without a car is by bus. The U-Mall Shuttle, University City Blvd., and Toms Creek routes all service the shopping center. During peak hours, which are from 7:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., at least one bus will leave every ten minutes.

Students going for late night study must keep in mind that no drinks are allowed without lids, so choose a resealable energy drink or put it in a different container. Food is absolutely prohibited.

After hard work at the Empo, many students reward themselves with other treats the mall has to offer. O-Pass Tea and Crepes sells bubble tea and crepes, and the Sushi Factory offers affordable fish.
