A Blacksburg man was charged with making a false robbery report. On July 4, at about 5:25 a.m., Blacksburg Police responded to a report of an attempted robbery.

Matthew James Hudgins, 22, claimed that someone had approached him from behind and demanded money in the 300 block of Givens Lane. Hudgins was unable to provide any other details about the incident.
