Sometime during the Hokie win Monday night against Georgia Tech, the letter "T" from Lane Stadium's sign mysteriously went M.I.A.
A photo of the sign with the missing letter made an appearance on a facebook page directed at Georgia Tech fans and students called "Only at Tech." Comments on the post allege that a Georgia Tech fan may be the culprit, with mixed opinions from students as to whether the theft was appropriate.
According to a Time Newsfeed article in 2011, a tradition has existed at Georgia Tech since the 1960s in which students steal the letter "T" from their own campus' Tech Tower. It has not yet been determined whether that tradition followed Georgia Tech fans to Virginia Tech's campus Monday night.

All letters to the editor must include a name, e-mail, daytime phone number and affiliation to Virginia Tech. Affiliation includes: year and major for students; position and department for faculty and staff; current city for alumni and parents.
A friend of mine had a parent in Blacksburg that took a photo before the game and the T was missing then. Really CT is the best you can do and article with no research.

You guys say after the game, but I'm pretty sure it was missing when ESPN showed a reporter outside the stadium prior to kickoff.

Yes, it was missing on Monday morning. The letter "T" from the ZTA house was taken as well, and I'm sure a few others around campus were swiped.
