Today at noon, tickets for comedian Kevin Hart’s Homecoming Laugh Riot 2012 go on sale for students and the general public.
Thanks to the Black Student Alliance lobbying extensively for Hart to put on the comedy event, he will be performing in Burruss Hall on Thursday, October 11. For students with a Hokie passport, tickets cost $25. General tickets cost $35. Tickets can be purchased online or at the Squires Ticket Office.
“I’ll try my best to get tickets on time,” said freshman Roni Gordon. “I know I wouldn’t be able to see (Hart) perform back at home.”
Students who follow the BSA on Facebook and/or Twitter have a chance at winning free tickets to the show. Frequent updates can also be found here up until the show date.
Hart will be performing the stand-up routine as a detour of his nationwide tour. Whether or not he will be using the same material he has planned for Jacksonville the next day remains unknown. His electric, “anything-goes” style has students abuzz on social networks about the show.
“I loved growing up with Hart’s humor,” said senior Mandy Roth. “Since seeing the 'Scary Movies' series, it will be great to see him live and in person.”
The BSA schedules events year-round for students, but the Laugh Riot 2012 will be a centerpiece event for the Homecoming season.
