Tech students, faculty and staff will be required to move certain vehicles parked on campus by midnight tonight.
The school declared a snow and ice traffic emergency, meaning that certain parking rules go into effect to protect road travel.
According to an advisory sent around 12:30 today, the designation is declared when road conditions create a dangerous traveling situation.
The following roads, because they are designated emergency snow routes, must be cleared of all parked vehicles. If vehicles are not removed by midnight, they will be towed. All student resident vehicles must be parked in either the Cage, the Chicken Hill lot or the Stadium lot.
Washington Street: between Kent Street and Duck Pond Drive
Kent Street: between Washington Street and Drillfield Drive South
Drillfield Drive: between Kent Street and West Campus Drive
Spring Road: between Washington Street and Southgate Drive.
Alumni Mall, inbound.
Bus service on Main Street, Harding Avenue and the CRC/Hospital routes will also be affected.
