As Virginia Tech prepares to welcome a new gourmet hamburger eatery to replace Sbarro at Squires Student Center, it is important that the new shop's menu accommodates students’ budgets.
We applaud the emphasis on fresh, high quality ingredients, but there must also be options for students looking for an on-campus meal that is hearty but reasonably priced.
As Dining Services considers how the new eatery will operate, it should focus on streamlining operations, so that it is efficient, and affordable and costs are minimized, keeping food prices reasonable for students. At the very least, the new burger place should offer some basic burgers at a cheaper price.
While a gourmet hamburger restaurant will provide new and delicious options for students wishing to dine on campus, it is important to make those options as affordable as possible, so students will be able to purchase food without having to worry about their wallets or Hokie Passport accounts receiving a hard hit.

The fact that it is going to be gourmet burgers tells me it probably won't be all that cheap.
