These office hours will be held from 10 a.m. to 12 a.m. in the First Floor Conference Room at 775 Roanoke St., and they are open to everyone with an issue or problem involving a federal agency such as Social Security or Veteran?s Affairs.
The office hours serve as a way for the senator to become informed on affairs from all over the state so that he can report to Congress and meet the needs of all constituents, Hall said.
?It?s a way for the public to let the senator know how to vote in Congress,? Hall said.
The office hours enable constituents who cannot visit the senator?s offices in Roanoke and Abbington or cannot afford long distance phone calls a way to present their problems.
In addition, Hall will meet with local officials and county administrators to listen to any potential concerns or problems that Congress must address pertaining to the county.
Hall, who has worked as Allen?s regional representative for the last five years, said that this is a fantastic idea, and that it solves many problems in Virginia.
?Allen?s goal is to bring his office to the people, and this is the most effective way of achieving this goal,? said Allen spokesman David Sneep.
Allen has regional representatives all over Virginia, and they routinely hold office hours in different locations to gain information from constituents.
Anyone currently facing problems or desiring to convey their opinions dealing with federal agencies is strongly encouraged to attend these office hours in order to be heard.
