This first recipe makes four tart, refreshing shooters and can be drunken like tequila — with sugar instead of salt, of course.
The Blitz
1 oz tequila
1 oz rum
1 oz gin
1 oz vodka
1 oz cranberry
1 oz sour mix
splash of tonic water
In a large shaker half filled with ice, combine all ingredients except tonic water. Strain into four shot glasses. Top with tonic water. Can be enjoyed like straight tequila shots with sugar and lime (Courtesy of Cocktail.com)
If you happen to have a lot of different juices on hand (this may require a trip to the grocery store since most college students have only water and beer in their fridge) this is a tasty drink to sip during the game. It's a little bit sweeter than the previous drink, so if tartness isn't your thing, give this drink a try.
First and Ten
3 oz gin
2 oz orange juice
2 oz pineapple juice
2 oz grapefruit juice
2 oz cranberry juice
2 oz lemon juice
2 oz lime juice
dash grenadine
splash soda water or seltzer
float dark rum
Combine all fruit juices and gin in a large shaker half filled with ice. Strain into two Collins glasses filled with ice. Top with grenadine, soda water and rum. (Courtesy of Cocktail.com)
This final drink has less expensive ingredients but is just as delicious. The great thing about this recipe is that it can be adapted to make one glass or a large punch bowl — perfect for large gatherings.
Touchdown Tea
1 part Vodka
1part Tequila
1part Rum
1part Gin
1part Triple Sec
1 part lemon-lime Gatorade
Splash of Cola
Orange juice to taste (optional)
Mix all ingredients in a large punch bowl that has been filled with ice. This drink is best served cold, so keep a bucket of ice nearby. If you want to get really fancy, freeze the orange juice and float it in the punch bowl. Now you are keeping the drink cold and as the ice melts, adding flavor, too. (Courtesy of About.com)
