A vehicle crashed into the side of Sub Station II around noon on Monday.

The Honda Accord went through the wall and window exterior of the Sub Station II on the corner of Turner Street, facing the Burger King.

The driver of the vehicle was 19-year-old Ethan Wechtaluk of Blacksburg, according to a news release from the Blacksburg Police.

Wechtaluk was pulling into a parking space when his foot slipped onto the accelerator and moved the car through the restaurant, according to police.

Liz Lapuasa, a Blacksburg High School student and daughter of the Sub Station II owner, was working in the sub line when she heard the crash.

“We had no idea what happened,” Lapuasa said. “There were two or three people sitting on that side.”

Martin Hauschildt, Lieutenant for the Blacksburg Police, said that no one was hurt in the accident.

The driver of the car was a regular customer, Lapuasa said.

“The town is inspecting for structural soundness,” Hauschildt said.

The towing truck had removed the vehicle within the hour.

The damage to the vehicle is estimated at $4,000, and the damage to the building is estimated at $25,000, said the release.

Wechtaluk was charged with reckless driving, according to the police.
