Hokies represent in Beijing by Melanie Wadden, CT sports reporter Monday, August 25, 2008; 12:03 AM Since Todd Scully in 1976, Virginia Tech has sent seven athletes to compete in five Olympic games. These premier competitors have represented the United States, Latvia, Mali, Trinidad and Tobago and Turkey. The 2008 Games in Beijing may have been the most successful for the university, however. Five Hokies represented their respective countries in this pinnacle of athleticism.
