A score of voter registration foot soldiers descended on John Boyer's 2,600-student World Regions course, urging students to register to vote (which is a good thing) and decrying the use of absentee balloting in the upcoming election (which is absolutely stupid.)

Editoral: The zen of 'Science of Superheroes' and other 'silly' classes by CT Editorial Board Wednesday, August 27, 2008; 9:23 PM The reputable online publication, "Cracked.com," recently published a piece on a collection of ridiculous, as they deemed them, classes taught in colleges. While the research methods employed by the site were in keeping with what you would expect from "America's Only Humor and Video Site, since 1958," — consisting basically of looking at course titles — the issue of what counts as credible university material is serious. And how we determine what should be treated as worthwhile knowledge, and who determines it, is even more so.
