The Dan Tyminski and Ronnie Bowman performance scheduled for Thursday at the Lyric has been postponed because Tyminski must tend to a family emergency.
The Lyric
The Lyric is a not-for-profit movie and arts theater in downtown Blacksburg. It first opened in 1909 on the corner of Wilson Avenue and North Main Street, but it has since changed locations multiple times and can now be found on College Avenue. It has undergone several renovations and was last restored in April of 1999 through a community effort after it closed its doors as a theater in 1989.
Today, the theater features one movie at a time and normally selects lesser known, recent releases. It also hosts music concerts and stage performances and is listed on the Virginia and National Registers of Historic Places as part of the Downtown Blacksburg Historic District.
