Malcolm Delaney
Malcolm Delaney (Mar. 11, 1989 - ) is a guard for the Virginia Tech men’s basketball team.
Delaney attended high school at Towson Catholic in Baltimore, Md. There, he was a four-year letter winner, Baltimore Sun Metro Player of the Year, Gatorade Player of the Year and three-time All-League selection, averaging 20 points, four rebounds and four assists per game in his senior year.
As a freshman at Tech, Delaney finished second on the team in assists (107, 3.1 apg), fourth on the team in scoring (9.6 ppg) and fifth on the team in rebounding (2.9 rpg).
As a sophomore, Delaney embraced a larger role on the team, being named third-team All-ACC, while scoring more than 20 points in 12 games and more than 15 points in 25 contests.
In 2009, Delaney solidified his role as the leader of the men’s basketball team by leading the ACC in scoring throughout the regular season.
