A legal opinion issued by Virginia Attorney General Ken Cuccinelli could subject Virginia abortion clinics to stricter regulations.
Tim Kaine
Tim Kaine (Feb. 26, 1958 - ) is the former Democratic governor of Virginia and current chairman of the Democratic National Committee. He was elected governor in November 2005, defeating Republican Jerry Kilgore. He served as Virginia’s governor from 2006 to 2010.
Prior to serving as governor, Kaine served as the mayor of Richmond and as Lieutenant Governor under former governor Mark Warner.
He was governor during the April 16, 2007 shootings on Virginia Tech’s campus. He flew back from Asia to host a convocation ceremony at Cassell Coliseum, along with former President George W. Bush.
Following the shootings, he commissioned a special panel to investigate Seung-Hui Cho’s shootings. The panel produced the Governor’s Panel Report on the shootings, which has been amended since its initial publishing.
