Blacksburg Town Council
The Blacksburg Town Council is a major part of the governing system for the town of Blacksburg. The council appoints the town manager, and it sets budgets, tax rates and plans for the future of the town.
The council consists of the mayor and six council members. They are elected in odd years and serve four-year staggered terms. Elections are held on statewide Election Day, a procedure that began in November 2009. Town elections were previously held in May.

Meetings are held on the second and fourth Tuesdays of each month in the Roger Hedgepeth Chambers at 300 S. Main St.
