Letter: Managing transportation should be left up to VDOT

When it comes to deciding the major transportation needs of the state of Virginia, the Collegiate Times editorial board should stick to journalism and let VDOT do the work. The editorial, "What's so smart about a road no one traverses?" (CT, Oct. 30), showed a severe lack of understanding of our state's transportation needs.
Area responds to high gas prices

Gasoline seems to be on everyone's mind these days, with prices soaring to over $4 per gallon. Despite the increased costs, people still need to get around. According to the Energy Information Administration, demand for gasoline in the United States has declined from 9.591 million barrels per day to 9.251 million barrels per day. While there was a slight increase in demand at the end of May, it has been declining steadily since that time.
Kaine promotes transportation plan in Radford

Gov. Tim Kaine addressed a local audience at Radford University's Hurlburt Student Center on June 4 as part of a statewide series of town hall-style meetings promoting his 2008 transportation plan.
