Seth Greenberg often stresses a necessity for the Virginia Tech student body to take ownership in the basketball program. The costumes featured in this video could qualify as ownership.
“Hokie Leonidas”, or Phillip Zellner, or — even better — Leonidas Zellner, placed first in the Roanoke Times’ Ultimate Hokie Fan contest this past football season. Orange Mann (Ryan Watson would be his Bruce Wayne) experienced a sensational first year last spring. They provide two of the more interesting sights in a new outfit of Hokie spirit created by Hokies on Fire, the Cassell Guard Generals.
This batallion receives front-row tickets for each home basketball game and carry responsibility for making things rowdy, in a good way for Tech and a bad way for opponents. Tastefully done, though.
At home this season, the Tech men's and women's basketball teams finished 15-1 and 12-5, respectively.
The generals inducted into the Cassell Guard at the start of the 2009-2010 Virginia Tech basketball season are as follows:

Phillip Zellner of Hampton, Va., a junior majoring in electrical engineering in the College of Engineering;
Colleen Caprio of North Caldwell, N.J., a freshman majoring in communications in the College of Liberal Arts and Human Sciences;
Bradley de Wet of Richmond, Va., and a senior majoring in communications in the College of Liberal Arts and Human Sciences;
Steven Schamback of Glade Spring, Va.,a sophomore majoring in history in the College of Liberal Arts and Human Sciences;
Jake Carter of Gate City, Va., a sophomore majoring in wildlife science in the College of Natural Resources;
