Kevin's training in first aid while he was working his way to Eagle Scout saved his life that day.
From one Eagle to another, that exemplifies the motto of the Boy Scouts "Be Prepared"

Ms. Grimes, I admire your strength. The strength it took to go through what you did and the strength to keep your composure as you re-tell the story. I have an 18 month old son and I almost lost it myself when you described looking at the baby pictures of your son and feeling frantic. I knew going into motherhood that I was signing up for a lifetime of worry, but what you faced is almost too much to bear. Thank you for sharing your story.
