After a strong cold front moved through Friday night, expect the first week of real winter temperatures. Monday, the afternoon temperature will be in the lower 40s with some clear and sunny skies. That night, temperatures will drop below freezing in the upper 20s with some light, west winds in the Blacksburg area.
Tuesday looks to be much cooler with highs barely reaching above freezing and lows in the mid-teens with a slight chance of snow showers. On Wednesday, temperatures will only reach in the upper 20s, so make sure to wear a thick coat across campus. Reading Day, expect partly cloudy skies with highs in the upper 30s.
Looking into the weekend, partly cloudy skies and afternoon temperature in the upper 30s and low 40s will dominate the region as students are just starting exam week.
